About My Work
My present professional work focuses on oil and acrylic paintings, pairing rich earth colors with deep jewel tones. My portfolio also includes work in ceramics, photography, and digital design from my undergraduate studies and formative years. These pieces span a range of styles and color palettes and do not reflect my current practice.
Most Recent Work
My newest work confronts the unbridled nature of oneself, of my womanhood. Complex, deep, and unapologetically raw. The figurative piece began with little planning or outline, only a raw and fervent hunt to uncover myself. I carved out a body that felt like my own, reclined and arched, legs open, bared to the world and saying “here I am.” The ribcage is exposed in rough, rhythmic strokes, clearly marked, making breath and tension visible. The blue came and felt like this relief, this gasp of air I breathed. A release from my own monotony. Beside it, the abstract canvas swells with dense, saturated color, dark and turbulent in places, broken by sudden bursts of light. Together they choose honesty over the desire to be polished, holding vulnerability, desire, and strength at once.
